These little gems come up every year and are a joy in the grass. I add more every year to decorate the lawn.

I really enjoyed these this spring and they seemed to bloom for a long time which was very nice. However there was only white and purple. So yes that's still a mix but I would have loved to have gotten some of the pink that were suppose to be included also.

Maybe one in 10 came up.

I planted 250 bulbs and maybe 25 came up, but I doubt that many came up. Best thing I can say is that of the ones that came up and bloomed most were purple/blue and only two were white, but no pink unfortunately. I planted 50 two years ago and I had more of those come back up than the newly planted ones.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

I planted 300 bulbs and NOT 1 came up!!

Submitted 3 years ago

By Kelly

From San Diego

I planted 300 Blanda mix anemone bulbs in my front flower beds this fall and NOT 1 came up! I also planted 200 Mr.Fokker bulbs and about half of them came up. They were few and far between, but at least some of them came up. I followed the planting instructions for the Blanda mix so I don't know what else I could have done. I am an experienced gardener and not only do I have to factor in the price of bulbs, but the time I spent on preparing the beds, the cost of the soil and the time I spent planting 500 bulbs! It takes a lot of time to plant that many bulbs and NOT ONE OF THEM TO COME UP! I guess I could say that they may come up next year, but if not even one came up this year the chances are quite low! Happy Gardening to all my fellow Gardeners! Adios from the Southwest! Kelly

I planted over 100 and have just a handful that grew and bloomed. Such a disappointment.

Should these be dug up and stored indoors in winter in zone 6?
Asked by Blind Gardener
Verified Reply - AngelaAnemone Blanda corms do not need to be lifted from the ground in zone 6. They should overwinter just fine if planted in the ground in zones 5 to 9. If you are growing them in pots, the pots should be moved to an unheated garage or basement for winter. Was this answer helpful to you
